“A passion for makeup and people is what drives me to deliver the highest standard of work in the industry” ~ Kim Bartlett.
If you were to ask anyone that knows Kim the two things she was most passionate about they would tell you, makeup and people. Even though the dream of a career in beauty wasn't realised until later in life with childcare being the first choice, Kim had often toyed with the idea. From a young age she was exposed to the industry with her first job being in pharmacy and cosmetics at the age of 14.
"I always admired how polished the ladies at work were and I remember building up quite a collection after pay day every Saturday, I was hooked". Being from a small town, Kim always had a natural flair for make up but no direction in how to utilise her skills, she remembers visiting the first Napoleon concept store in Brisbane whilst on holidays and "fell in love".
After several years, a move interstate and her sister's wedding for inspiration Kim finally got the opportunity to do some formal training at the Napoleon Academy. From there Kim Image Specialist was born and the dream was realised.
She finally discovered "how I could help people by doing something that I also loved". She was in her element. After 8 years of building a solid foundation in the wedding industry Kim has branched out into several areas of beauty and expanded with a small team who have instilled the same commitment, passion and values. That team is now known as Shima & Gloss.
